Updated March 16th:
Due to the CDC’s new recommendation on social distancing we have decided to change the Treat Yourself Fun Run & Walk to a Virtual Fun Run. We are encouraging all healthy participants to run or walk a 5K, record your time and date then email your results to us. At a future date we will hold a post-race celebration honoring the fundraising teams and participants from the virtual race.
Why not cancel or reschedule the Fun Run? This is the only annual fundraiser that benefits Providence ElderPlace and Providence Heritage House at the Market, two important ministries of Providence Home and Community Care. The funds raised through the event support programs and supplies that are not part of their general fund. Every dollar counts, so converting or donating your registration will make a difference! However, if you choose, we are also offering the option to cancel your registration and receive a full refund.
If you have not registered for Fun Run yet, please visit our registration page. After you complete a 5k please use the link from your registration confirmation to update your time and date as well as your shirt size. We will email you the date of our fundraising team and post virtual run celebration where you will be able to pick up your long sleeve t-shirt. Our typical post race treats will also be available at that time.
If you have already registered for the Fun Run please email pamela.gargett@providence.org and let her know if you are able to transfer your registration to a virtual one, donation or would prefer a refund.
Thank you for supporting Providence ElderPlace and Providence Heritage House at the Market during these times.
SUPPORTING OUR COMMUNITY (updated 4-21)
Sometimes, it’s the little things in life that make a difference. After emailing our participants requesting they convert their registration to a virtual one, we received a heartwarming message from Rio’s mom, Martina. Rio’s story warmed our hearts and helped us realize that this race is not just about raising money, it’s also about building community and supporting one another. Rio’s story was featured on KOMO TV 4 on Easter Sunday. If you missed seeing Femi Abebefe’s segment, you can click here to watch. The original Facebook post can be found here. We’ve also created an Instagram account so you can post who has inspired you during this time.
This fundraiser includes various avenues for you to treat yourself— a healthy activity of a 5K run or walk, complimentary treats to indulge in afterwards, time with family and friends, and a great way to raise funds for two Providence ministries, Providence ElderPlace and Providence Heritage House at the Market.
There are four ways you can support Providence ElderPlace and Heritage House at the Market:
Form a Fundraising Team
Donate to a Team
Register for the Fun Run & Walk
